86-year-old woman killed in 2-vehicle crash in Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – An 86-year-old woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Clarksville Saturday.

Officials said the accident happened at 9:09 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 76 and Old Farmers Road.

Mattie Hand, 86, was traveling southbound in a 2001 Cadillac Eldorado on Old Farmers Road when she collided with Donald Davidson, 82, as he drove a 2010 Ford Ranger pickup eastbound on Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, also known as State Highway 76.

Both vehicles came to rest down an embankment off the roadway.

Hand was pronounced dead on the scene and Davidson was taken to Gateway Medical Center in stable condition.

The accident slowed traffic down for about two hours, but the road was open by 11:30 a.m.
