TAMPA, FL (WFLA) – A woman who didn’t know she was pregnant until her third trimester had an even bigger surprise when she gave birth to record-size 14-pound baby boy.
St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital says Maxxandra Ford realized she was pregnant after rapidly gaining weight last fall. She went to the doctor, finding out she was 35-weeks along.
St. Joseph’s says the baby boy, named Avery, is the heaviest born at the hospital, tipping the scale at 14.1 pounds, and one of the largest born in the state.
Maxxandra says because she’s a twin, and felt so big, she initially believed she was having twins herself.
She also has a one-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter at home.
Earlier this week, a Wilson County woman, who didn’t know she was pregnant, gave birth to a baby boy.
