NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly stole lawn equipment from the Nashville Zoo and assaulted an officer.

Police said Johnathon Hutchinson, 32, pawned the items at several Cash America pawn shops after they were stolen in September 2014.

Authorities had issued a warrant for Hutchinson’s arrest when he was pulled over for swerving on Nolensville Road in October 2014.

During that incident, Hutchinson had allegedly refused to exit his vehicle, knocked the car into drive and dragged the officer 40 yards before fleeing the scene.

Hutchinson was finally apprehended as he left a known drug house in east Nashville Thursday afternoon.

A routine search of Hutchinson’s clothing revealed heroin, cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Hutchinson was booked into the Metro jail on charges of resisting arrest, burglary, drug possession and assaulting an officer. His bond was set at $130,000.
