Stewart County Schools to close rest of week due to illness

STEWART COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – Stewart County Schools announced Tuesday they will close the remainder of the week.

Director Leta Joiner cited not only flu-related illnesses but also strep throat and a stomach virus for the closure.

Stewart County is now among several other school systems who have closed school lately due to illness.

Humphreys, Lewis, Overton and Perry counties have also cancelled classes in recent weeks.
