MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – Middle Tennessee’s 2015 football schedule could be the toughest in school history.
The Blue Raiders will face five bowl teams and three teams from power conferences.
One of those three teams is the Vanderbilt Commodores, who the Blue Raiders are hosting for the first time in 95 years.
The Blue Raiders will also visit SEC Champion Alabama and Illinois from the Big Ten.
“I think this is the best home schedule we have ever had at Middle Tennessee,” said Athletic Director Chris Massaro. “It should be very exciting for our fans as we host local rival Vanderbilt for the first time since 1920 and Marshall, who ended the year ranked No. 22 nationally. Along with a tough non-conference slate, we will face our normal challenging C-USA schedule. Last year our league had the best bowl record in the country, but I am confident our team will be ready.”
Middle Tennessee opens the season Sept. 5 with a non-conference game against Jackson State in Murfreesboro. The Blue Raiders kickoff the Conference USA season against UNC-Charlotte at Floyd Stadium on Sept. 19. Their full schedule is below.
