ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WKRN) – Danny Wright, the man who escaped a mental health facility in Nashville last month, has been arrested in Florida after the vehicle he was driving struck a deputy as he attempted to flee during a traffic stop.

Two Orange County deputies attempted to pull Wright, 37, and another man over Sunday night when Wright made a U-turn toward the patrol car.

Both deputies fired shots at Wright and his 62-year-old passenger, Alan Grant.

Wright’s vehicle struck Deputy Aaron Jenkins, pinning him to the ground.

The injured deputy, Wright and Grant were all transported to a local hospital.

During their investigation, authorities discovered Wright was wanted in Tennessee for armed robbery.

Both deputies have since been treated and released.

Wright remains hospitalized for injuries sustained during the incident. He was last listed in stable condition.

Authorities say he is cooperating with their investigation.
