Vanderbilt comeback attempt falls short to Georgia

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Vanderbilt’s effort to come back from a double-digit deficit ultimately fell short as the Commodores fell to Georgia 70-62 Tuesday night.

Damion Jones led the Dores with 16 points while Luke Kornet and Jeff Roberson each added 11.

Vanderbilt took the 36-35 lead with just over 17 minutes left in the contest, but Georgia responded with a 9-0 run to take control.

Nemanja Djurisic scored 15 points for Georgia and Marcus Thornton added 14 as the Bulldogs extended their SEC winning streak to five.

Vanderbilt has dropped six in a row since opening SEC play with a win over Auburn.

The Dores return to the court Saturday when they travel to Texas A&M.
