Barfield Elementary kindergarten teacher arrested for DUI

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – A kindergarten teacher at a Murfreesboro school was arrested for DUI early Sunday morning.

Schlynda Robinson, a teacher at Barfield Elementary, was arrested at the IHOP located on Old Fort Parkway just before 2 a.m. after police arrived to the restaurant in reference to a disturbance call.

Upon making contact with Robinson, 33, the arresting officer reported an odor of alcohol, bloodshot and watery eyes and slurred speech.

Robinson was taken into custody after performing poorly on a field sobriety test.

She is charged with DUI and violation of complied consent. Robinson has since been released on a $1,500 bond and is due in court April 28.
