GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (WKRN) – A Georgia mother delivered her baby girl inside of a Kroger store earlier this month.
Deborah Ross told WSB-TV that when her water broke she and her husband were only halfway to the hospital.
The couple pulled over into a shopping center after Ross told her husband they weren’t going to make it to the hospital in time to deliver the baby.
Ross and her husband hurriedly walked inside the store, where baby Cora was born just minutes later.
“I was standing there [near the shopping carts]. There was no time to sit down or lie down or have a blanket or a towel or anything for me,” Ross recalled. “I just instantly held her head. She was already coming.”
After the quick delivery, father Andrew Ross said Kroger was very accommodating.
“They came out with some blankets and [were] pulling them off the shelves and brought them and was able to keep her warm,” he told WSB-TV.
Cora weighed in at 7 pounds and 11 ounces. She is the couple’s third child.
