NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Vanderbilt women let a large second-half lead slip away but managed to hang on for a 55-52 win over Alabama Sunday in Tuscaloosa.
Morgan Batey scored a team-high 14 points to give the Dores their first SEC road win of the season. Freshman Paris Kea added 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds off the bench.
After defeating Arkansas on Thursday and holding the Razorbacks without a field goal for the final 12:26 of the game, the Dores defense continued to dominate again on Sunday.
They didn’t allow an Alabama field goal until the 9:53 mark, ending a 22-minute stretch in which their opponents went 0-27 from the floor.
The Dores have won four of their last five games and look to continue the success when they visit Mississippi State on Thursday.
