2 escaped east Tennessee inmates back in custody

SEVIERVILLE (WATE) – Two Sevier County inmates who escaped from the Sevier County Jail Annex on Friday have been captured.

David Way, 44, was taken into custody on Sunday afternoon around 1:45 p.m. He was found on Chapman Highway in Sevier County. Deputies say he gave up with out incident and is now being interviewed.

The other inmate, 18-year-old Dustin Skaggs, was captured on Saturday around 1 a.m. not far from the Sevier County Jail Annex.

According to the deputies, Way of Cosby and Skaggs of Townsend were missing from jail at 11:41 p.m. Friday.

The U.S. Marshals assisted in the search.
