NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Twenty people were displaced by a two-alarm fire in Green Hills Saturday night.
Firefighters were called to the condos on 299 Boxmere Place off of Seven Hills Boulevard at 8:30 p.m.
When they arrived to the scene flames were shooting from the roof on the backside of the building.
No one was hurt; however, six units are were damaged and now unlivable. The Red Cross is helping those displaced by the fire.
“It was sad and horrific. You could just see the flames coming out of the roof,” neighbor Christopher Bateman said.
Residents returned Sunday to salvage what they could, removing boxes of items and furniture from their condominiums.
“We’ve been told not to go in there,” Bateman said. “I was trying to help her, but they’re afraid the ceiling might fall in.”
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
