NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested after allegedly sending a package he claimed was anthrax.
The victim received the package from Edward Carpenter in November of 2014. It had rose petals and a note that read, “It’s Rosethrax!!!”
The note was made with letters clipped from magazines and newspapers and glued onto an index card.
The victim called 911 because she thought the package contained anthrax.
The package was inspected by HAZMAT crews and the bomb squad and eventually deemed harmless.
Carpenter, 29, was interviewed on Tuesday and admitted to sending the package.
He was booked into the Metro jail and has since been released on bond.
