NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man wanted for a 2012 murder fled from an officer when he was pulled over for a traffic violation Wednesday.

It happened near the intersection of Brick Church Pike and Avondale Lane.

Authorities said when 22-year-old Damonta Meneese stopped his vehicle, he ran from the car and jumped over a tall fence.

A police helicopter and ground units searched for Meneese but were unable to find him.

He is wanted for the fatal shooting of Stephen Milliken on Dec. 26, 2012.

Milliken and three friends drove to the 400 block of East Nocturne Drive to sell stereo equipment.

When he got out of the car, three men, one of them believed to have been Meneese, took the stereo gear at gunpoint.

Milliken tried to drive away and was shot in the head.

The other two men indicted in the case, Meneese’s brother Joshua Menesse and Alexander Vance, have been in custody for several months.

Anyone who knows Meneese’s whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
