NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 25-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for propositioning a 12-year-old girl.
According to a Metro police arrest affidavit the man, Mark Grantham, was a friend of the girl’s family.
Grantham began messaging the girl through the Kik messaging application on New Year’s Day.
Unbeknownst to Grantham, the 12-year-old’s mother had control of the KIK account.
The mother contacted police and gave detectives control of the account.
Metro detectives continued the text conversation with Grantham, posing as the 12-year-old girl.
According to the affidavit, Grantham sent sexually explicit messages, including photos and video.
Grantham asked to meet the girl for sex on Saturday morning, January 3, at the old Kmart site at Nolensville Pike and Harding Place.
When he arrived, Metro police arrested him and charged him with solicitation of a minor.
Grantham was booked into the Metro jail on $75,000 bond.
