Soldier arrested in Clarksville shooting

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – An active-duty soldier out of Fort Carson, Colorado, was arrested Thursday after a 22-year-old was shot in Clarksville.

Authorities reported Malcolm Turner, 27, was taken into custody during a traffic stop about one hour after the shooting on Cranklen Circle.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was shot multiple times just before 1 p.m.

She was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she is listed in critical but stabled condition.

Investigators with the Clarksville Police Department are preparing felony arrest warrants to charge Turner in the crime.
