CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities say a woman who drove around a Chattanooga neighborhood randomly shooting at people in their cars is facing several charges, including attempted first-degree murder.
The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports that Julia Shields, who was wearing body armor, was eventually arrested late Friday afternoon.
Earlier that day, two people in the usually quiet Hixson neighborhood notified police that they were sitting at a stop sign when a woman pulled up beside them and fired shots into their vehicle.
A short time later police received additional calls about a woman firing at another vehicle, and threatening to shoot others.
Police eventually located Shields, and after a short chase, arrested her at an intersection.
Shields was being held at the Hamilton County Jail. As of Saturday night, her bond had not been set.
