Store employees wrestle thief, hold him down until police arrive

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The store employees of an east Nashville beauty store wrestled a thief to the ground when he tried to rob them.

Thirty-one-year-old Michael Thompson, a registered sex offender, reportedly entered the store at 710 Gallatin Avenue Friday night.

He approached two employees behind the counter, held one of the workers at gunpoint and demanded cash.

Employees wrestled Thompson to the ground and were able to disarm him. They then held him down until police arrived.

Thompson is being held on a $151,000 bond. He faces felony weapon possession and aggravated robbery charges.

He has been arrested 25 times in Davidson County since 1998.
