A Murfreesboro family has decorated their home with around 100,000 lights.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Murfreesboro home has been transformed this holiday season for not only the enjoyment of passersby, but also to raise money for two families.

Rick and Jamie Parker’s home on Applewood Lane in Rutherford County is decorated with 100,000 lights that are all animated to music.

The Parker’s are taking donations including groceries, toys and clothing for the families.

Between the two families there is a 2-year-old boy, a 7-year-old girl and a little girl in the fourth grade.

The Parker’s said they have raised over $600 to split between the two families, in additional to receiving other donated items. They plan to surprise the families with the items on Christmas Eve.

This is the eighth year the family has decorated their home with the extensive light display. They said they typically begin setting up the twinkling lights right after Halloween.
