PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla.- (WKRN) – A spat over a Facebook friend request ended with an elderly woman being attacked and another woman arrested.

According to ABC News, the disagreement started after Rachel Hayes, 27, sent a friend request to a 72-year-old woman.

The woman refused to accept the request because she found Hayes’ profile name offensive.

“The victim told Hayes she would be willing to accept the request if she would change the name,” the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office stated in a release.

The women got into an argument and Hayes left the home angry. Authorities said she returned a short time later and continued the argument at the front door.

Hayes reportedly slapped the victim several times before she was able to go back inside the home and lock the door.

Hayes was arrested and booked into the Pinellas County Jail Thursday afternoon on suspicion of felony aggravated battery on an elderly person.

She was released on $10,000 bond.
