NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Shar-pei /lab mix found abandoned in north Nashville is in need of a permanent home.
The dog, who has been named Pablo by his rescuers, was found with a crushed paw that may require amputation.
Cindy Hite told News 2 her friend found the dog near the intersection of Buchanan Street and Dr. D. B. Todd Jr. Boulevard on Tuesday.
Hite is now overseeing Pablo’s care and said the bar is high for a new owner.
“Someone who’s going to give him lots of love, but he requires a little bit more than usual attention at the moment based on his injury.”
Veterinarian Catrina Herd said, “All the bones in his foot are broken, and it didn’t just happen. It’s been a while, probably at least a week, his foot has been broken. Clearly he didn’t have any care for that, so it’s turned really ugly when it could’ve been a simple injury to correct in the first place.”
