Franklin police are crediting alert citizens unafraid to get involved with the arrest of an alleged car burglar.
Officers were called to the Cheswicke Farms Subdivision around 1 a.m. Tuesday after multiple residents reported a prowler looking into car windows and opening unlocked cars.
The residents were awoken by car alarms, causing them to look outside.
Franklin police were ultimately able to catch up to 20-year-old Luke Barrett inside the subdivision, who was arrested at the scene.
He faces charges of auto burglary, drug possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Barrett is free after posting $10,500 bond. He’s due in court Dec. 18.
