COFFEE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A family in Coffee County has transformed their home and yard into a huge Christmas light show in an effort to benefit two area charities.

Kenny and Jeannette Delaney put on the show every year at their home located at 1361 Old Airport Road in Hillsboro, which is about 71 miles south of Nashville.

They put the Griswold’s to shame as they showcase 60,000 lights which are all synchronized perfectly to music.

The Delaney Christmas Light Show dazzle’s their Coffee County neighborhood every night during the holidays.

If you’ve seen the show, you’ve probably seen Kenny Delaney watching with you, admiring his work, and directing traffic as his lights get more attention.

“My goal is just making everybody happy. That’s always my goal in everything in life basically,” Delaney told News 2. “Part of it’s for me too. I enjoy every bit of it!”

For four years now, he and his family have labored to make sure the twinkling lights and music are in sync.

“This year I’ve slowly made everything a little easier to set up and take down. But it still took about three days solid,” says Delaney. “Then programming is the part I can only do by myself. I’m in my office for about 16 to 20 hours every day doing this.”

The Delaney’s accept donations and 100% of the proceeds go to two Coffee County charities.

It’s hard work and their electric bill during December is a little more expensive than during the other months of the year, but Delaney says it’s worth it and he’s certain his show can make a believer out of anyone.

“One man told me before he came here he had no Christmas spirit. Right there in the driveway as I was directing traffic he stopped and said, ‘Boy this gave me Christmas spirit,” recalled Delaney. “It is little heartwarming comments and the cheers of the kids and the adults even every night that keep me going.”

The light show plays Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
