On Monday, Nashville Shores announced plans for a new $2 million water slide called “The Big Kahuna.”
The slide allows up to four people to ride on a raft together down the 6-story slide, which features an enclosed tunnel with multiple twists and turns.
Construction on the new water slide begins in January and will be ready by the time the park opens on May 9, 2015.
Nashville Shores was purchased by new owners in 2009. Since then significant money has been spent on upgrading the property.
Marketing Director Daniel Strobel told News 2, “We’ve doubled the park size with the new wave pool and lazy river, and our Cowabunga beach, which is a giant interactive playground.”
Strobel said The Big Kahuna is “just another step in transforming Nashville Shores from a local water park to a regional destination.”
