NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Katie Hill resident is doing her part to make sure every child in her neighborhood has a gift under their Christmas tree.
This is the second year Lindsey Langley has hosted the Katie Hill Kids Toy Drive.
“This time of year it’s hard on parents and families that don’t have the financial means to provide their children with at Christmas. I can look around and see that most families in my neighborhood need some sort of help or assistance,” Langley told News 2.
Langley says she walked the streets of her neighborhood asking who needed assistance and then went to social media for help.
She said, “This time of year, if I have the ability or the network to help these families then that’s something I can’t not do.”
Thanks to the outpour of support, she was able to provide gifts for 40 children last year. This year she hopes to provide gifts for nearly double.
“If it weren’t for other people willing to help and reach out then it couldn’t be done. People just opened up their hearts to help the kids in my neighborhood,” she said.
Langley still needs help with about forty children this Christmas. Click here if you are interested.
