LEBANON, Tenn. (WKRN) – A home on East Old LaGuardo Road in Lebanon features two million lights over eight acres of land.
It has made the display’s creator, Chad Barnard, sort of a celebrity around town.
“People will stop in the store, or at the beach, wherever,” Barnard told News 2. “They are like, ‘Hey, you know what would really look good at your place?’ I talk to them and I think, ‘That may be a good idea.’”
Barnard’s display became very popular on social media, catching the eye of ABC producers.
He was invited to become a part of the television show “The Great Christmas Light Fight.”
“I am very nervous,” Barnard said. “Since February, it has been in my mind. I made a lot of changes and made a lot of improvements.”
On Monday, his display will go up against other families across the United States for the chance to $50,000.
Barnard says just being asked to be on the show is an honor.
“Whether I win or lose, I won all the way around,” he explained.
This year is his 32nd year creating the magnificent display. He started when he was 12.
“The Great Christmas Light Fight” airs Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. on Nashville’s News 2.
