Employees trap alleged shoplifter inside downtown gas station

Police arrested Terrell Anderson, 20, Saturday after he was observed by employees allegedly taking items from the Tiger Mart on Shelby Avenue.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested Saturday for felony drug possession after he was locked inside a gas station by the employees once they suspected him of trying to shoplift merchandise.

It happened at the TIgerMart on Shelby Avenue near LP Field.

Police reported Terrell Anderson, 20, was observed by employees allegedly taking items from the store.

According to an affidavit, the workers were able to trap Anderson inside the store and lock the door while they waited for police to arrive.

Once officers took Anderson into custody, a search of his pockets revealed he allegedly possessed over one gram of crack cocaine.

Anderson was booked in the Metro jail on a charge of felony drug possession with a bond of $50,000.
