Woman arrested in stabbing after north Nashville fight

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A woman was arrested Sunday afternoon in north Nashville after a fight broke out and she reportedly stabbed another woman.

According to an affidavit, the argument happened between a pair of sisters on 16th Avenue North near Herman Street around 1:50 p.m.

The incident escalated, and the victim told police she and Desiree Edwards got into a fist fight.

During the fight, the victim reportedly climbed on top of Edwards, who pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times.

Edwards, 19, admitted to police that she stabbed the victim during the fight, according to an affidavit.

The victim was transported to the hospital with three major lacerations, but was listed in stable condition.

Officers found the weapon Edwards allegedly used in her freezer under a bag of fries.

Edwards was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Her record shows she was also arrested in October on drug charges.

Edwards’ bond was set at $75,000.
