A car overturned after hitting a stopped vehicle in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 Friday morning.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -

A car overturned after hitting a stopped vehicle in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 Friday morning.

It happened near the Harding Place exit around 3:15 a.m.

Police reported a white Camaro had been seen driving recklessly on I-24 before receiving calls that that the car was completely stopped in the lane of traffic.

Before officers could respond to the stopped Camaro, a driver came over the hill and ran into the back of the vehicle, flipping onto its roof.

Three lanes of the interstate were temporarily closed.

The driver of the Camaro told police he is a student at Tennessee State University and may have fallen asleep at the wheel due to fatigue from studying for finals.

No one was injured in the accident.
