NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A fire destroyed a home in Belle Meade Saturday night.
Firefighters were called to the house in the 6200 block of Highway 100 at 9:10 p.m.
When they arrived, flames were shooting through the roof. It took firefighters more than an hour to put out the blaze.
There were five people inside, including a person in a wheelchair, but they all escaped safely.
Officials on the scene told News 2 the fire started in the basement. The fire spread into tight crawl spaces, making it difficult for firelighters to extinguish.
