Now that we are closer to the weekend (and also Monday), models are starting to show more consistency and what meteorologists like to see: “continuity”.
Here’s the latest broken down into 3 time periods.
1) Late Saturday night through early Sunday morning from I-40 and Nashville northward we could see or a light mix of rain/snow/sleet, with more snow chance near the KY border northward. This event would be light. South of I-40 anything that occurs during that time period should be mostly rain, maybe a sleet mix. Temps early Sunday morning will hover just at or slightly above freezing.
2) Sunday during day through the evening we are looking at a cold rain with highs in the low 40s.
3) Between midnight Sunday night through the morning hours of Monday we could see the rain change to snow, especially the north & east half of Middle TN, with accumulation possibilities most likely in the northeast and eastern sections of Middle TN, and along the border with Kentucky. Temps should be near/below freezing Monday morning and staying in the 30s for highs.
The accompanying graphics from the GFS model are generally in agreement with that, and ECMWF is in pretty close agreement (for us weather geeks!)
Monday Night Football with Titans/Steelers should be dry but COLD, with temps falling below freezing during the game. Titan Up! & Bundle up!
