The Ohio Valley Conference and Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium announced a new agreement Thursday, keeping the league’s basketball tournaments in Music City through 2017.
“We are delighted to continue our relationship with both Municipal Auditorium and the City of Nashville,” said OVC Commissioner Beth DeBauche. “As a result of improvements to the facility and the continued support of both the venue and the city, we can continue to make Municipal Auditorium and Nashville the home of our premier championship.”
The OVC Men and Women have played at Municipal nine times including the last four seasons.
The 2015 OVC Basketball Championship is scheduled to be held at the venue from March 4 to 7, while the 2016 OVC Basketball Championship will be held March 2 through 5 and the 2017 OVC Championship will run March 1 to 4.
Since the OVC returned to Municipal Auditorium in 2011 the venue has undergone extensive renovations including a new basketball court, new seating, a new scoreboard, as well as locker rooms improvements and new OVC-branded signage with other future improvements currently in the works.
