Jamey Tucker comes to Nashville’s News 2 from Memphis where he anchored the weekend newscasts at the CBS affiliate, WREG. He also anchored weeknight newscasts at WHNT-TV 19 in Huntsville and WJSU-TV40 in Anniston, Alabama.
“Nashville has always been a city I wanted to put down roots and raise a family. We used to come to Nashville from my hometown of Springville, Alabama to visit Opryland. I remember meeting Roy Acuff who was putting an old Bible in a display case and my mom telling him where it would look best. We all loved Nashville.”
Jamey has been honored by the Associated Press of Alabama as Best Reporter and Best Feature Reporter for his work as a religion reporter. “Not many television stations put a reporter on the ‘Godbeat’, viewers either loved it, or hated it. I enjoyed it and there was always lots of material to choose from.”
Today, Jamey works as a video journalist at WKRN. “I cover a little bit of everything, but my interest now is technology” he says.
Jamey and his wife have three children and calls Hendersonville home.
