Cherish Lombard is the anchor of News 2 at 4. She comes to Nashville from Mobile, Alabama.
Her media career started in Top 40 radio in 2001 while she was still in college. She was hired to work behind the scenes, and was determined to prove she had what it takes to be on air. She was given the chance to work overnight air shifts, then promoted to morning traffic reporter before she joined the morning show as a host.
She captured the attention of the News Director at WALA who asked her to deliver traffic reports for his morning newscast. In 2008, Cherish was hired as a general assignment reporter, and in 2010, she was promoted to host the station’s new lifestyle and entertainment show.
Cherish has a deep passion for animals. She and her fiancé have five rescue dogs and a cat. She says it breaks her heart when she sees an animal walking on the side of the road, and she just can’t leave them there.
Cherish loves being here in Nashville and looks forward to helping you start your day! You never know where you’ll see her, and she says she hopes you’ll say “Hi” when you do.
