A couple in Arizona made a memorable entrance into their wedding reception when the groom dropped his bride.
The incident, which was caught on tape, happened at the Oct. 11 nuptials of 25-year-old Julia Magdaleno and 27-year-old Chad Kannard.
The pair was walking down a concrete runway leading into their reception when Chad decided to spontaneously pick up his new bride and carry her into the building.
That’s when he slipped and they both fell to the ground.
“He was like ‘Are you okay?’ and I was like ‘Yeah, I’m fine.’ I had a cut on my forearm and he was like, ‘You’re bleeding’ and I was like ‘I am?’” she said.
Julie said her husband, who took most of the force of the fall, was also bleeding.
“Both his arms went under me so really he took most of the impact. It looks like in the video he body slammed me but really, I really felt, like, nothing,” she said. “I was kind of sore the next day but, I mean, when you fall onto the cement, of course you’re going to be sore.”
The bride and groom wiped themselves off and then went into their reception to enjoy the remainder of their wedding day.
Julie later learned that her mother posted the video of their tumble on YouTube. She was shocked to see that so many people had watched it. As of Thursday, the clip had been viewed more than 136,000 times.
Julie says the fall did not ruin her wedding day, but actually made it better.
“I was shocked but I mean, really, I think back on it and I was, like, who else can really top that kind of wedding entrance?” she said. “It’s something me and my friends and family will never ever forget.”
