Three roommates are grateful to be alive after authorities said they were held against their will in their own home for several hours.
Police said 34-year-old Taris Frazier barged into the East Castle Street home in Murfreesboro Tuesday night and held the three women at knifepoint.
Two of the victims told News 2 the suspect kept them hostage in a bedroom for over 10 hours. Since they were isolated in the room for that long stretch of time, the women said they were forced to use the bathroom in a closet.
The victims said Frazier not only threaten their lives, but also beat them badly.
“He beat the [expletive] hell out of me and one of my roommates for about nine hours straight,” said 22-year-old Lauren who agreed to talk with us as long as we do not use her last name.
Police said one of the victims eventually ran to a nearby fast food restaurant for help after the suspect fell asleep.
“If it wasn’t for her, no telling what would have happened,” said 23-year-old Amber, who is also a victim.
Police took Frazier into custody after finding him hiding in a bedroom underneath a pile of blankets.
“I hope he goes to jail and stays there for the rest of his life,” said Lauren.
Frazier is charged with three counts each of aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping.
He was booked into the Rutherford County jail and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 6, 2015.
All three women walked away shaken, but are not seriously injured.
