A Nashville man has been arrested for the alleged rape of a three-year-old girl.
Jonathan Chambliss, 19, was taken into custody Wednesday by U.S. Marshals and the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit.
Chambliss is accused of raping a child during a family gathering in the Blackman community in Murfreesboro. The alleged assault took place on June 14.
Authorities say a family member witnessed the crime and contacted the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.
U.S. Marshals in Houston, Texas joined the investigation because Chambliss was believed to have moved to the state.
Officials later determined that he was back in Nashville and took him into custody.
Chambliss was indicted on one count of aggravated rape of a child and one count of aggravated sexual battery. He was booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on bond $300,000 bond.
A hearing in the case is scheduled for Nov. 10.
