Gordonsville High School in Smith County was on lockdown Friday morning while school officials investigated reports of threatening text messages.
Jera Huff with Smith County Schools told News 2 they put the school on lockdown as a precaution after hearing rumors of the threatening text messages between students.
The alleged exchanges occurred before the school day began, Huff said.
The principal and district superintendent were at the school investigating.
The lockdown was lifted before Noon. Information about the threat wasn’t immediately released.
Gordonsville High School is located in Gordonsville, approximately 50 miles east of Nashville.
