NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – One person was arrested and another remains on the loose after a fatal shooting in south Nashville last month.
SWAT officers took 18-year-old Oral Patterson into custody at a fast food restaurant on Trinity Lane and Dickerson Pike Thursday afternoon.
He has been charged with criminal homicide for the shooting death of Ricky Burgett Jr., 27.
Patterson’s accused accomplice, 22-year-old Aaron Dodson, is facing the same charge. He remains on the loose.
Police say Patterson and Dodson broke into Burgett’s apartment on 420 Welshwood Drive on the afternoon of September 21.
Before the attack, Burgett reportedly spoke to his roommate briefly and then went to the bathroom.
That’s when two intruders entered the apartment, demanding money. Burgett was confronted in the bathroom where one of the intruders shot him.
He was taken to Southern Hills Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Anyone with details on the crime or the whereabouts of Dodson should call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
