The story about an animal lover’s generous donation to a Manatee County cat rescue group is making headlines across the country.
Rick Snyder, age 69, spent 10 years collecting coins he found in Manatee County.
Last Tuesday, he cashed in those coins and donated the cash -a whopping $21,000- to the Gulf Shore Animal League, according to a report in the Herald Tribune.
The animal league told the Herald Tribune that it will use the donation to fund its bottle baby program for newborn and infant kittens and also use the money for its trap-neuter-return program.
The Gulf Shore Animal League honored Snyder with a “Thank You” message to him on the organization’s Facebook page.
The Gulf Shore Animal League is a non-profit organization operated by volunteers.
