The third annual Paychecks for Patriots event is being held statewide on Thursday.
The event allows employers to meet with soldiers face-to-face and is more streamlined than a normal hiring process.
Paychecks for Patriots serves as a bridge to facilitate military to civilian employment.
According to a release, Tennessee has been the fourth largest state in deployments since 9/11, with nearly 30,000 men and women going to war.
Most of the soldiers returning to the states have never held a civilian job, having gone straight from high school to basic training and advanced training, then deployment.
The event is sponsored by the Tennessee Military Department in conjunction with the state departments of Labor and Workforce Development and Dollar General.
