Several residents have been displaced by a fire that began in an east Nashville apartment building Wednesday morning.
It started at about 2 a.m. at the Bellwood Park Apartments on 100 Pennington Avenue.
The fire was contained to the 800 and 900 apartment buildings with the majority of damage being done by the sprinkler system.
Preliminary reports indicated the fire could have been due to a lightning strike but fire marshals will have to complete their investigation before that can be confirmed.
There were no injuries reported from the fire.
The Red Cross was on site to assist those who lost their homes.
