Police arrested a man shortly after he allegedly grabbed a cash drawer from a popular Mt. Juliet restaurant.
According to police, Kenneth Dickerson entered Cheddar’s Casual Café around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and took the cash drawer from behind the bar when employees were not around.
At 11:20 p.m. police located Dickerson and a woman sitting in a car parked near the water tower at Sgt. Jerry Mundy Memorial Park.
The stolen cash drawer was discovered in Dickerson’s possession, along with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police said since the cash drawer was locked, Dickerson used a battery-powered saw to cut it open to obtain the money.
Dickerson is charged with theft and vandalism.
He is due in court November 4.
Police determined during the course of their investigation the woman inside the vehicle was not involved in the theft. She does not face any charges.
