A woman is behind bars on multiple charges of identity theft after she allegedly stole wallets out of purses across Nashville.
Police reported Nicole Muench, 24, targeted women at bars, restaurants, grocery stores and clothing stores.
According to an affidavit, Muench stole wallets from women’s purses at John A’s restaurant and Dave and Buster’s in Donelson, a Publix in Hermitage and the Burlington Coat Factory in 100 Oaks.
In every scenario, Muench would then reportedly take the stolen cards to nearby Walgreens and CVS pharmacies and purchase hundreds of dollars of charges.
Police said the recent crime spree began in August of 2013 when she was caught returning items to Walmart for gift cards that she had taken off of shelves.
She then allegedly used another woman’s identity to sell jewelry to a jewelry store and cashed their check at an Advance Financial in June.
Muench encountered police at the Target on Lebanon Pike in Donelson on Sept. 12 and gave them a false social security number.
Muench was arrested on Sept. 30.
She was booked into the Metro jail on charges of theft, identity theft and probation violation. Her bond was set at $108,500.
