Two men were injured when their truck overturned early Thursday morning in Cheatham County.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. on Highway 12 North about six miles from downtown Ashland City.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the driver lost control while going around a curve and crossed into the oncoming lane.

The truck then hit a few trees, flipped over and landed back upright on all four wheels.

The rolling caused the roof of the truck to cave in so both men had to be extricated from the truck.

The driver was airlifted via LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville with critical injuries.

The passenger was transported to Skyline Medical Center with minor injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Further details were not released.
