A Texas girl who was abducted when she was just 5-years-old in 2002 has been located in Mexico.
According to KVUE-TV, Sabrina Allen, now 17-years-old, was found alive and is undergoing a medical evaluation.
Investigators said Sabrina and her mother Dana Llorens were both found in a small town southeast of Mexico City.
Llorens was arrested Tuesday on aggravated kidnapping charges.
She and Sabrina were flown back to Texas Tuesday night.
Llorens remains jailed on a $300,000 bond.
Sabrina was reported missing in April 2002 when she went for a weekend visit with Llorens. She was never returned.
On Wednesday, Sabrina’s father, Greg Allen released a statement which said in part, “I am overjoyed that Sabrina has been found alive and is safe. We look forward to being reunited very soon.”
Additional information is expected to be released later Wednesday.
