Work will resume in the near future on the 24-hour diner project in SoBro recently stalled by a stop order from Metro.
Avenue Diner LLC reached an agreement with Metro Tuesday, lifting the stop order for construction at Third Avenue and Demonbreun Street.
The building also has a new design. Initially set to be four stories, the most recent design puts it at six stories high with the sidewalk width along Demonbreun meeting the downtown code range of 15 to 20 feet.
When News 2 reached out to Steve Meisner, the attorney for the family behind Avenue Diner LLC, he said work will not begin immediately but as soon as possible.
The Avenue Diner will be adjacent to a 33-story glass retail and luxury apartment building in SoBro, which is now under construction.
It will be open 24 hours a day.
