A reporter in Tampa, Florida who was covering a story about a missing child found the boy and returned him to his family.
According to ABC Action News Tampa Bay, 10-year-old Paul Ezekiel Fagan went missing from his home at 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 25.
His grandmother, who is his legal guardian, called police at 8 p.m. that night after she searched for him and was unable to find him.
Reporter Cameron Polom went to the neighborhood the following morning to report on the story when he saw a child sitting on alone on a fence.
“I said, ‘Have you been missing?’ I said, ‘Come here, buddy,’ and I just picked him up and I said, ‘Would you mind if I lift you up?'” Polom explained. “And I just said, ‘Come with me.’ I just held his hand and walked him over to you guys. It’s crazy.”
Authorities then led Paul back to his family where they happily welcomed him home.
The reunion was caught on tape.
Paul’s family said he has a slight learning disability, but had never gone missing from home before. No details were released about where he was while he was missing.
