Four people including a 9-year-old child were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Gallatin Pike in Nashville Wednesday.

The accident happened in the 3800 block at Stratford Avenue in the Inglewood area just after Noon.

The 9-year-old, a passenger in the white Nissan, was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Three passengers in the Ford Explorer were taken to Skyline Medical Center.

According to police on the scene, all patients suffered serious injuries and were listed in critical condition.

The northbound lanes of Gallatin Pike are closed while police work to clear the scene.
