Man faces kidnapping charge in connection to realtor's disappearance (Image 1)

A man wanted in connection to the kidnapping of an Arkansas real estate agent has been taken into custody Monday.

According to KHBS-KHOG-TV, Aaron Lewis was arrested by Little Rock police following a foot chase.

Beverly Carter’s SUV was discovered in the driveway of a home she was showing Thursday in central Arkansas. Authorities discovered her purse inside the vehicle.

Carter’s husband of 35 years, Carl, reported to police he received text messages from his wife’s cell phone early Friday morning, with one stating she was “having drinks.”

“She wasn’t a big drinker,” he told ABC News. “I knew she was in trouble.”

Lewis is charged with kidnapping.

According to  ABC News, Lewis was involved in a car accident on Sunday and slipped away from authorities while receiving treatment at a Little Rock hospital.

Since Carter’s disappearance, hundreds of friends, volunteers and police have searched nearby woods.

The search for Carter is ongoing. Police have not said how they have linked Lewis to the 50-year-old woman’s disappearance.
